The usual rule

What you bring to sessions stays between us. I take brief notes to support the work. I receive clinical supervision, and I discuss my work there without using identifying details wherever I can.

When I would need to share

I may need to share information if:

• you or someone else is at risk of serious harm
• a child or adult is at risk, and safeguarding duties apply
• the law requires it, including a court order

Wherever it is safe and possible, I would talk to you first.

Children and young people

Young people need a private space, and parents need to know their child is safe. I will agree with you, at the start, how we handle that. Safety always comes first.

Schools and organisations

Organisational work needs a named contact and a written understanding of how safeguarding concerns are passed on. I am not an on-call or crisis service.
